New to crypto? 

Don't worry, we'll guide you through the basics! 

First, let's start by explaining what a crypto wallet is. Just like you have a piggy bank to store your coins, a crypto wallet is a digital wallet where you can store your cryptocurrencies. To get started, we recommend you go to the website called "Metamask." Click on the cute little fox logo to reach the Metamask URL. Once you're there, you'll see a button that says "Download". Click on it and follow the instructions to add the Metamask extension to your browser. There's also a video worthy of your time.

Metamask will give you a special phrase called a "seed phrase" that you need to write down and keep safe. These words are your KEYS to your self custody, digital crypto safety deposit box - And get this? You can access it 24/7. 

Once you record and store your seed phrase somewhere safe, you can open your wallet, take a look around and become familiar with it. 

Now its time to fund your crypto wallet. You'll need to purchase cryptocurrencies from a crypto exchange. In Canada, we find Newton to be one of the best onboarding platforms to work with. Use our Newton referral link and we'll each receive $25 CAD. To add funds to your account, you can use a variety of payment methods, such as credit card, bank e-transfer, (Debit Visa) or PayPal.

 Just remember, never, EVER, share your seed phrase with anyone... your wallet# is okay and is all anyone ever needs from you. It is your crypto identity. With Metamask, you can safely manage and store your cryptocurrencies in a cold wallet as well, just like your very own little digital piggy bank.
